What to give up to hold onto the Iron Rod...by James ChristensenI should be excited for the annual opportunity to see who's who in the singles' scene, AKA the annual singles' conference on Valentine's weekend. This year it was held right next to my work - just 4 glorious miles away. There was the anticipated 10 women for each 1 man turnout, really good workshops (Brad Wilcox, Michael Ballam, James Christensen-artist, Marvin Goldstein, and others.) On Sunday, we heard from Elder James Gibson who gave a really good talk for church. Again, the coolest thing, though, was having all the stake presidents pass the sacrament to the huge congregation (in the high school cafeteria). For some reason, that always touches me that they would come show their support like that.

ver married. I know that sounds funny, but I met and met up with old friends who are now divorced who have awful experiences - many not showing any war wounds, and others who look like they've been through a war. Their stories are amazing to me and almost make me distrusting of the available men...a room full of ex-husbands!!!!! Don't worry or panic - but it is a true concern. I have high expectations and I won't lower them or settle - I see what that does to people. I'm perfectly happy in my own circumstances.
